Expert Users

First Time Users:

Before you can start using this Forum you need to register. Only registered users can post  messages on  the forums. If you are not registered, you will still be able to read other peoples' messages but you will not be able to reply to them or post messages of your own. 

  1. Click on the * Register link on the top left of the forum page.
     
  2. Please agree to the Forum Terms and Conditions of Usage and Privacy Policy by clicking
          
  3. Enter a username (used to login to the forum), your email address twice, a password twice (used to login to the forum), leave the language box as is, select your timezone, the confirmation code and click submit. Please keep your username and password safe as you will need those to login to the forum!
     
  4. After you received a confirmation that your account has been created, you can login to the forum by using the * Login  link at the top left of the forum page
     
  5. Enter the username and password your entered in step 3 to log yourself in. We recommend that you tick " Log me on automatically each visit" only if you are using your home computer.
     
  6. Click on the forum you want to view or where you want to post to from the Forums list:
  7. Click on the topic you want to read from the Topics list (continues step 8) or  click on the  Post new topic button to post a new topic (continues step 9)
     
  8. Click either on the Post new topic button to post a new topic (continues step 9)  or the Reply to topic button to post a reply to the topic you are currently reading (continues step 10)
     
  9. Enter a subject (Topic) for your message
     
  10. Enter the content of your message. You can enter plain text or BBCode enhanced content (for advanced users).
    Use the folowing elements to:  
    • Use to make your text Bold: you need to select your text before you click this button
    • Use to make your text Italic: you need to select your text before you click this button
    • Use to underline your text: you need to select your text before you click this button
    • Use to quote someone else: you need to select your text before you click this button
    • Use to format your text as code: you need to select your text before you click this button
    • Use to add a list then add list elements as explained below
      Example:
      [list]
      [*]a list item
      [*]another list item
      [/list]
      the result is a dotted list
    • Use to add an ordered list then click the add list element below Example 1:
      [list=1]
      [*]First
      [*]Second
      [/list]
      the result is a numbered list 1,2,3,...
      Example 2:
      [list=a]
      [*]First
      [*]Second
      [/list]
      the result is a list ordered with letters a,b,c,...
    • Use to add a list element
    • Use to add an image then enter the URL of the picture
      (eg [img]http://mywebsite/myfolder/myimage.jpg[/img])
    • Use to add a link to a website then enter the URL as shown the example below
      Example 1:
      [url]http://yourwebsite/yourfolder/yourpage[/url]
      Example 2:
      [url=http://yourwebsite/yourfolder/yourpage]The name of the website[/url]
    • Use to add a flash animation then enter the width,height and url of the flash animation (eg [flash=width,height]http://yourwebsite/yourfolder/yourflashanimation.swf[/flash])
    • Change the font size: Select your text than select a font size from the list: Font size: (eg [size=9]small font size[/size])

    You can also add Smilies by clicking on their respective icons:

    Very Happy Smile Sad Surprised Shocked Confused Cool Laughing Mad Razz Embarassed Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes Wink Exclamation Question Idea Arrow Neutral Mr. Green
  11. Select from the following options:
    Disable BBCode (It is recommended to leave unticked)
    Disable smilies (It is recommended to leave unticked)
    Do not automatically parse URLs (It is recommended to leave unticked)
    Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP)
    Send me an email when a reply is posted (Tick this option if you want to receive a notification via email when someone replies to your message)
    Lock topic (prevent other people from replying to the topic. It is recommended to leave unticked)

    if you are posting a new message, you will also have the following options:
      Post topic as: Normal  Sticky  Announce  Global 

    A sticky message is a message that will stick to the top of a list of topics.
    An anounce is a special type of sticky message used to make announcement.

    Global messages are messages that are posted in all the forums at once.

    Stick topic for:

    Sticky/Announcement time limit

     Days

    This option allows you to make your message sticky for a limited period of time (expressed in days)
     
     
  12. Click the   button to preview your message 
    Click the button to post your message
    Click the button to save your message
    Click the button to cancel your message
     
  13. In the case of new message, you can also post a poll to survey people's opinions:
    In the Poll Creation section, enter the Poll Question than the Poll Options (one option per line), the number of options a user can select when voting, the duration of the Poll in days and decide whether a user can vote morethan once.
     
  14. You can Preview, Post or Cancel your Poll.
     
  15. After posting your Message or your poll a confirmation message will be displayed. form that window, you can either go to the message/poll you just posted or return to the forum in which you posted your message/poll. You will be automatically redirected to your new message after a few second of inactivity.

Returning Users

 

if you did select the option " Log me on automatically each visit" the first time you used the forum, go to step 6 from the First Time Users list above otherwise, .Log yourself in using the * Login  link at the top left of the forum page and go to step 5 from the  First Time Users list above.
