TAFE NSW - South Western Sydney Institute is a proud partner with BBM in providing support for young people in vocational education and training. The TAFE NSW Youth Scholarship Award began in 2002 to assist youth at risk to complete a TAFE qualification. South Western Sydney Institute covers a large geographical area including communities with extreme socio economic disadvantage such as high unemployment and a high proportion of public housing residents. Youth comprise 40% of the population and include high representation of non English speaking background and Aboriginal young people.

Scholarships have been awarded to over sixty young people with amounts ranging from $150 to $1,500 according to student need. These BBM g rants of relatively small amounts of money have had an extraordinarily positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged youth. The BBM scholarship has opened the doors to further educational pathways that will assist young people to become valuable citizens in their local communities.
