At the Melbourne Flower Show

“The AGC MIFGS stand with the gurus Ash, Lauren Danecek and Tyler Howard.”
“The trip to Melbourne was absolutely amazing”, says 2021 BBM Horticulture Scholar Ash Walker. “I had an awesome time. I visited Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria and Fitzroy Gardens. I didn’t get a chance to see any others but definitely will on my next visit to Melbourne”
BBM Horticulture Scholars Tyler Howard (2019) and Ash Walker (2022) just returned from the 2022 Melbourne International Flower and Gardening Show.
They were hosted by their mentor, BBM Ambassador and Australian Garden Council Chair, Graham Ross.
“It was such a whirlwind week!”, says Tyler. I uploaded several hundred photos over the week on Facebook, it was such an amazing yet exhausting experience.”
“Working at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show on the Australian Garden Council stand was awesome. Talking to people about plants and horticulture careers was very fulfilling”, says Ash.
“I had a total fan moment when I met Jane Edmanson, I absolutely adore her and have loved her since I was knee high to a grasshopper. She’s the matriarch of Gardening Australia”, Tyler says.
”We wouldn’t be where we are now without the BBM teams support and guidance. Thank you very much, the opportunity has most certainly set us on a path of more achievements and adventure.”, said Ash.
Tyler agrees:
“These opportunities are amazing on so many levels. None of which would have been afforded without the support of BBM and the team behind the scenes!”
Both Ash and Tyler are getting ready for their for their BBM Scholarship trip overseas, where they will first work at the Chelsea International Flower Show in June, before visiting Kew Gardens and visiting various horticultural icons on their way to Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France.
We can’t wait to see the photos from that trip!
