Suellen McCaffrey – CEO
Suellen is an experienced for-purpose leader with a background in general management and senior executive experience with a background in psychology, corporate services, people and communications, culture, change and business transformation. Her focus is on leading BBM in pursuit of its vision and purpose while driving growth in our scholarship program and diversifying BBM’s networks, especially with industry.
“I have worked across both corporate and not for profit sectors, always with a focus on empowering and developing people to achieve their goals and make a positive difference in the world. It is a privilege to serve as CEO at BBM, working the BBM Board and team to continue this support for young people, our future leaders, who choose a practical pathway to support a sustainable and significant Australia. It is also a privilege to honour the BBM legacy as the 100 year anniversary draws near.”
Carmen Welss – Communications and Programs Manager
Carmen is a communications all-rounder with more than 10 years experience in the not-for-profit sector with experience in tertiary education, environment, advocacy and community services in local and national organisations in Australia and overseas. She brings project management, media, marketing, sponsorship and business development experience to this role with a keen interest in organisational capacity building.

Sam Andrews – Scholarships Administrator
Sam has over 10 years administration experience in a variety of settings including government, not-for-profit organisations, and small business.
Maria Ellensohn – Legacy Manager
Maria Ellensohn joined BBM as Legacy Manager in August 2021. Maria is a Social Worker with 20 years’ experience in the health and disability sector. Maria will foster the legacy division through the implementation of legacy strategies and is looking forward to supporting BBM’s community of former youth migrants. Maria is a wellbeing specialist and is passionate about the wellbeing of our environment and particularly those she is working with.

Dick Steell – Volunteer Archivist, Big Brother Movement
An ex-Little Brother himself, Dick has been in charge of the Big Brother Movement Archives for several years. He has catalogued the extensive records held at BBM Youth Support and continues to assist Little Brothers and their families to access their records and tell their “Living Stories”.
David Coleman – Volunteer, Big Brother Movement
David Coleman came to Australia in 1963 with the Big Brother Movement. He volunteers his time to archive the records of thousands of Little Brothers who came before and after him. He archives paperwork and photographs and preserves the stories for the Little Brothers and their families who continue to reconnect with the organisation.
