The UN Sustainable Development Goals
The UN Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.
The BBM Board of Directors aligned the organisation to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 – Climate Action – , 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, and 9 – Industry, Innovation and Technology.
BBM’s vision is a sustainable, significant Australia, and we measure our impact against the three SDGs we have aligned to.
We are committed to championing our scholars in becoming the architects of solutions to the critical challenges ahead. Our role is to support them in taking action as the emerging leaders of their generation.
In 2021, BBM entered into a partnership with UN Youth Australia to support BBM scholars in learning about how their purpose and impact align with the UNSDG framework and how they as individuals and as BBM scholars can contribute to advancing the SDGs.
Working with UN Youth Australia opens up the opportunity for BBM to expose our scholars to a movement for purpose and empower young people to support and lead each other, before pursuing leadership roles in their industries and community.
It creates a space where young people can learn from and with each other and work together to create a better future.
