Afghan refugee Hadi Hosseini takes another step forward in his education
At the 2012 BBM Youth Support Awards function we had the pleasure of hearing from one of the young TAFE students (Hadi Hosseini) who had received a BBM Youth Support Award to assist him attend TAFE to obtain his HSC.
However Hadi’s story was about much more than education. He shared the story of a young Afghan Hazara who had been a refugee from birth until he arrived at the Christmas Island detention centre at the age of 17. Granted asylum in Australia in 2011, Hadi has since worked tirelessly to develop his education and settle into his new country. BBM is proud to have been one of the many individuals and organisations who have helped Hadi on his journey.
