Our Awards program supports the professional and personal development of young people with clear goals and purpose. Awardees travel internationally to develop skills which support the growth of Australian communities and industry. Since 1983 over 1100 awardees have shared their skills, enriching communities and amplifying their effect as role models, mentors, teachers and employers.
The program is open to skilled young Australians from diverse backgrounds aged between 16 and 23. Through this self-directed learning experience, young people are exposed to specialist skills which may not be available in Australia to help them excel in their chosen field. The $8,000 award covers professional development costs including work experience, workshops, short courses, unpaid volunteering work and travel and living costs.
The awards recipients are selected using a shortlisting and panel process, drawing on independent experts relevant to the category to assess each application.
In 2019 we’re offering 37 awards to young Australians to help them develop their careers through international experience.
Applications are open from the 31st May. See individual categories for closing dates. The results will be announced by 10th September.
