BBM Appoints Suellen McCaffrey as CEO

The BBM Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Suellen McCaffrey has been appointed as CEO of the organisation. An experienced for-purpose leader and previous Interim CEO at BBM, Suellen assumed responsibilities on 22 March 2022.
Suellen brings a broad range of general management and senior executive experience with a background in psychology, corporate services, people and communications, culture, change and business transformation. As BBM’s recent Interim CEO she is familiar with the organisation’s challenges and opportunities and has a clear vision for its future.
“Suellen is ideally suited to lead BBM in pursuit of its vision and purpose while driving growth in our scholarship program and diversifying BBM’s networks, especially with industry”, said Marco Colli, Chair of the BBM Board of Directors. “We are delighted to have her on board and know she will build on the strong foundation and rapport she established during her time as Interim CEO.”
“I have worked across both corporate and not for profit sectors, always with a focus on empowering and developing people to achieve their goals and make a positive difference in the world. It is a privilege to take up the role of CEO at BBM, working with a passionate team and in partnership with many other organisations, sponsors, supporters and mentors to support the amazing young people accessing our BBM scholarships each year” Suellen said.
“As BBM supports young people now, it has been doing so for almost 100 years, with thousands of young men migrating from the UK to Australia in those early years, each with a sense of adventure, courage and passion to explore opportunity. I recognise everyone’s journey and story as an important part of our history and I look forward to engaging with the many individuals and families who still contact BBM to learn about the past, to connect with each other and to be part of the BBM community. It will be a privilege to honour the BBM legacy as the 100 year anniversary draws near.”
