Celebrating the 2014 BBM Youth Support Awards
NSW Parliament House provided a suitably impressive backdrop as we celebrated the achievements of 23 young men and women as they received their 2014 BBM Youth Support Awards.
From the opening welcome by The Honourable Jillian Skinner MP, the evening was filled with inspirational stores, humorous anecdotes and sage advice.
MC Marika Aubrey (BBM Drama awardee 2002) set the tone for the night with her warm and engaging style whilst doing an outstanding job of keeping the proceedings on track. Simon Tedeschi (BBM Music awardee 1998) inspired our awardees and entertained our guests in typically witty style.
The informal Q&A session between Marika and Steven Heathcote AM (BBM Ballet awardee 1984) was also a highlight of the evening. Marika, Simon and Steven provided great personal insights into what receiving a BBM Youth Support really means and how important a role it can play.
We were also thrilled to welcome back 16 of our alumni in addition to Marika, Simon and Steven. Their generosity in sharing their knowledge and experience with this year’s awardees is priceless.
Judging by the buzz of excitement in the Strangers’ Dining Room at the post awards cocktail party it will be a night remembered for many years by our awardees and their families!
