Last year’s BBM Youth Support Football awardee George Blackwood made his debut in the Hyundai A-league playing for Sydney FC against Melbourne City FC on Saturday 11th October 2014. It has been an exciting few months for the 17 year old who finishes school this year. In addition to being selected to go to Vietnam with the young Socceroos at the beginning of September he picked up a youth team contract with Sydney FC and played one friendly before making his debut with the first team.
George’s goal for the season was to make his debut for the first team and now that he has achieved that (in a very short period of time) he says he just wants to keep improving and working hard.
