We love when a story comes full circle, as a Past Awardee becomes a mentor for a current Awardee. It is the idea the Awards are built upon, the experience provides significant personal development opportunities for Awardees. The skills, knowledge, networks and experiences gained benefit the Awardee, the community and Australia.

The most recent example of this is Steven McRae (2002/03 Ballet Awardee) becoming a mentor to Brayden Gallucci (2015/16 Ballet Awardee). Steven has had a great career in Dance and will be returning to the Australian stage in June as The Royal Ballet Principal Dancer and we can’t think of a better mentor for Brayden.
